The End

May 15th, 2010 by Tim Corrimal

After almost 4 years and 205 episodes of GoRainbowRadio, I have decided to retire the show.

Thanks you to CAPP Records and T-Best Talent Agency for sponsoring the show and to all of the wonderfully talented Artists, DJs, Promoters and everyone else who have participated and supported GoRainbowRadio for the last 4 years.  And of course I have to give a special shout out to Barbara Sobel for keeping the show booked with such wonderful talent.

Also a special thank you to all of the fantastic listeners that kept the show going for 205 episodes.

I am continuing my other podcasts, There Are Some Who Call Me Tim and MeatFreeRadio, so I will still be around in the Podosphere and I hope you’ll come on over and participate in the shows with me there.

Again, thank you to everyone for all of your support and for now, Good Night and Good Luck!

Love’s A Basic Freedom – Pleasure Center

April 21st, 2008 by Tim Corrimal

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Pleasure Center Releases Pride Anthem

BOSTON MA, April 22, 2008 – Just in time for Pride events across the world, Billboard Magazine charting dance act Pleasure Center has released what promises to be a new perennial pride dance anthem: “Love’s A Basic Freedom”.

For DJ’s who have continually turned to “Proud” by Heather Small, “Pride (A Deeper Love)” by C & C Music Factory, and “And I Am” by Taborah as part of their Pride celebration bag of tricks, this new high-energy thumper from Pleasure Center (Las Vegas based vocalist Jennifer Rivers and Boston producer/songwriter Cory Conley) promises to be a new staple in a DJ’s arsenal.

For the duo, who previously released the club and dance radio favorites “Believe In Me”, “Getcha Some”, and “You’ve Got It All Wrong”, the idea for the song has been on their minds for a long time.

“I wrote “Love’s A Basic Freedom” over 12 years ago.” said Pleasure Center’s Cory Conley, “Jennifer and I have actually recorded it twice before but never did anything with it – but it was a song that we kept coming back to. With equal marriage rights being discussed all over the country, this seemed like the right time for the song to finally come out of the closet!”

The song has taken on even greater meaning in the years since Conley originally wrote it, since he married his partner of 14 years in 2004. Conley says he’s “very grateful to live in the one state — Massachusetts — that legally allows full and equal marriage rights for gays and lesbians, but at the same time it seems incredible to me that something so simple is still being fought for in the rest of the country. The idea that love is a basic freedom really is relevant personally to hundreds of thousands of people who are struggling for that right at this very moment.”

Currently available for download from Masterbeat.com, iTunes, and other digital download stores, additional remixes of the song will be released throughout the spring and summer, and don’t be surprised to hear new versions of the song released in coming years, just in time for Pride seasons to kick off.

“We’ve sort of got it in our heads that we might release a new remix or two of “Love’s A Basic Freedom” every year at Pride time,” Rivers says. “It’s got such a timeless theme, so we’d like to have new takes on the song done by remixers that are hot right then – to keep the song fresh and fun, and to keep the pride and club crowds dancing for years to come.”

Seems that any way you cut it, “Love’s A Basic Freedom” is not likely to fade from the headlines anytime soon.
